I believe that the disclaimer in Confessions of a Cyber Dater says it all:

For many years my friends bombarded me with tall tales of internet dating, and I was suitably amused, albeit disbelieving. Until one day when fate took a hand and cast me into the digital abyss, and I discovered that their words were but a thin veneer hiding a well-camouflaged shadow world. A world with its own strange rules, warped physics and encounters of the peculiar kind.

Although I have drawn on both my experiences and those of others, I have gone to great lengths to mix stories, distort events, change names, alter circumstances and otherwise ensure that any relationship to reality is purely coincidental. This is a novel--please treat it as such.
